COMPAQ LTE 5280
Bought a old vintage laptop. Trying to replace the harddrive with a msata ssd inserted on a msata to ide 44 pin adapter. ive ordered a msata to usb adapter so i can transfer a win98se and other files to the msata drive. Also need to add a description box to the project pages.

The msata ssd disk to 44 pin adapter solution didnt work. It couldnt find it, guess the
laptop is to old to recognize the adapter.
So i made a win98se boot floppy disk and formated the harddrive it came
with. Bought a usb docking station for various harddrives. Had to disasemble it cause the harddrive could not reach the
specific dock i needed.
Copied a win98se installation to the harddrive with the docking station from another computer.
Booted up the compaq and started the win98se installation. Everything seems to work, though the cmos batteri is flat and need to be replaced.
Another solution for a new harddrive could be a flash card in a adapter. But for now im satisfied.
I also tried to insert a pcmcia card usb adapter, but it could not find the card. Might be cause the compaq lte 5280 cant use 32bit pcmcia cards, only 16bit ones.
